The
National Capital Area Minority Business Opportunity Center
(NCAMBOC) is a federally funded initiative of the U.S. Department
of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)
operated by Performance-based Solutions, inc. (PbSi).
The purpose of the MBOC is to assist high
growth Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) located in the
Washington area to identify and obtain financing and business
opportunities. The MBOC Advisory Committee is made up of dedicated
community leaders and advocates representing government, financial
institutions, corporations and trade groups who have made
a commitment to advise and assist the MBOC in carrying out
our mission. The MBOC also leverages the resources of business
and economic development centers, financial institutions,
and chambers of commerce with which we have entered into strategic
partnerships. Through these partnerships, advisors and local
advocacy groups, we work both with buyers and sellers, financiers
and borrowers, to ensure that the DC/Maryland/Virginia region
benefits from the talents and capabilities of our high growth
MBEs.

The
MBDA is one of several agencies that make up the U.S. Department
of Commerce. MBDA is the only federal agency created specifically
to advocate and foster the establishment and growth of minority
owned and operated enterprises throughout the U.S. This agency
has become an entrepreneurially focused and innovative organization
with a commitment to target a myriad of resources from both
the public and private sectors to empower minority business
enterprises and entrepreneurs desiring to grow their enterprises,
create employment opportunities and pursue wealth creation
for the owners, operators and employees of these enterprises.
